Prior to launching the Circle of Light (CoL) program in a new community, the community is provided with a local CoL Energy Store and Christian Training Center—which serve as the hub for the program in that community. When a lighting system battery runs down, Circle of Light participants bring it back to the Energy Store to be recharged. They also bring back their empty propane cylinder from their cooking system and exchange it for a full one. The Energy Store stocks filled propane cylinders, recharges batteries and carries replacement parts for the cooking and lighting systems to assure the continued long-term operational sustainability of the equipment placed in the homes.
The Circle of Light Energy Store also actively participates in on-going Christian discipleship and evangelism within the community. To fuel spiritual lives, the local CoL Energy Store hosts community outreach events where audio Bibles and video-based Christian training materials are presented on a regular basis. These audio and visual resources help to spread the Gospel in areas where the literacy rate is very low.
